Our aim for the Bold was to recreate the versatility of a Roman espresso shot. Enjoyable taken as black - but able to punch through milk. Perfect for a wide variety of different drinks.

Roar Gill Cortado | 10 Pods
- Source: Seasonal Blend from Bali & Brazil
- Type: Typica /Fine Robusta
- Strength: 8
- Serving size: 80 ml
- Flavour Notes: Baking chocolate, treacle, cedar and spice
A mainstay of café culture in Spain and Portugal. A Cortado uses less milk than a flat white and a fraction of the milk used in a latte. This powerful shot bridges the gap between black coffee and milk-based drinks. Pour the short button twice for 80ml then add warm milk to taste.
This coffee has the most caffeine in our range, so provides the perfect morning kick.
Had a few attempts with compostable pods. RG first ones to work properly. Coffee is nice, will be ordering some more, particular fan of bold and cortado.
Packaging is smart and the instructions on the side have really helped get a good coffee rather than just sticking everything on long
The coffee itself is ok, however the pods keep getting stuck in the (L'Or) machine and it's a fiddly process to hook them out. For this reason I will not be re-ordering.
Ok, I REALLY wanted to love these. I saw a couple of very good youtube reviews where these came up, and was looking forward to moving to compostable capsules.
I was initially not impressed with the taste and strength compared with a strong nespresso capsule. This was the 'yellow' box. When trying the 'green' box I was far more impressed with the body and taste, but I still end up using two capsules for a large coffee where as one strong nespresso capsule would have done the job.
OVERALL they are still pretty good, and with the £10 for your friend or partner, followed by £10 off for myself, another batch is already on the way.
Give they a good amount more punch and I would be giving a 5 star review.
I was considering switch from Nespresso to bean to cup, as i am concerned with the amount of pods i was using that couldnt be recycled. My machine was still working and seemed a waste to retire it. Found these, but wasn't sure which flavour/style i would like. If honest, they are all good, so will buy another mixed set. Very tasty, and the compostable (am testing in the wormery!)
I’ve been trying to find an eco friendly coffee that bangs.
Finally I have found the answer. I love strong coffee and Roar Gill hits the spot. Using the Nespresso machine, two small servings of the coffee, some hot water and a splash of milk and you’re away. Would recommend.
